“Media5 has a long history of technological innovation as a developer of VoIP products and services. In fact, since the company was founded in 1992, our global R&D investments have continued to produce a stream of valuable and innovative products and services that began with our award-winning family of VoIP ATA and Gateways, and now includes a line of mobility applications and customizable software development kits.
Media5 originally specialized in audio processing and was the source of the technology for the well-known Audiotrix sound cards, later on licensed and integrated in the Yamaha chip familiar to many PC users. In 1997, Mediatrix (as the company was known then) decided to evolve its technical capabilities into the new area of IP Telephony. In June of that year, we were one of the first companies to launch an adaptor- the APA- which allowed an analog phone or fax to be connected to an IP network.
In 2002, M5T was formed to capitalize on our growing expertise in SIP technologies. The goal of this spin-off from Mediatrix, with its team of highly experienced engineers, was to design, develop and bring to market secure SIP-based technologies, applications and software solutions for the telecommunications marketplace.
In 2009 we introduced Media5-Boss and Media5-Fone to complement our VoIP Gateway Products. Media5–Boss is an all-in-one suite of products designed for security & survivability in multi-site environments. Media5-Fone is a suite of SIP-based mobile VoIP (mVoIP) and Unified Communications softclient applications enabling end-users to make VoIP calls by using their smartphone with any available WLAN and Packet Data (3G, 4G) networks.
Our mission has been, and continues to be, Enabling Live Communications at the Edge of IP Networks. Today, our Mediatrix and M5T teams are reunited under Media5 to bring to the market state-of-the-art products and software that benefit from almost 15 years of SIP knowledge and expertise in the field of IP communications.
Our success has enabled us to broaden our market presence into new regions, throughout the world, allowing us to better respond to the needs of Enterprises and their Service Providers with our Products, and Solutions, and to maintain our signature pre- and post-sales support, as a global partner."
