Media5 appoints Schalk van Tonder in the role of sales manager as part of the company’s bid for continued growth and development

Sherbrooke, QUEBEC, September 29, 2009 – Media5 Corporation, a leading developer of advanced VoIP technologies and services, announced today that it has entered into a new sales agency agreement with Schalk van Tonder, Sales VP at Sales Force Europe, who will serve as the sales manager for Media5 Corporation throughout the country of South Africa.

Schalk has been working in the IT industry for the past 21 years with large players like Siltek, Westcon, Dell, Compaq and IBM. He was the Sub Saharan Territory Manager for Extreme Networks from 2001 to 2006 when he joined Sales Force Europe in a similar position. Schalk has accumulated a great understanding and knowledge of the SA ITC market and through his resident alliances and Sales Force Europe presents a whole new market for Media5. Schalk will cover the South African market from his office in Cape Town with branch offices in Johannesburg and Durban.

With the deregulation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) in South Africa through the Telecommunications Act of 2005, billions of dollars are being invested into IP-based Next Generation Networks capable of delivering converged services more efficiently. VoIP revenue grew significantly each year and is estimated to have tripled in 2008. South Africa is now at the technological forefront amongst all the countries in the region to be quick adapters of VoIP.
