Media5 Gateways Provide Enhanced Capabilities to Microsoft Office Communications Server Customers Worldwide
Sherbrooke, QUEBEC, August 05, 2010 – Media5 Corporation, a leading developer of advanced Communications over IP products, services and developers solutions, today announced that the Mediatrix line of VoIP Gateways has been qualified for interoperability with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, moving the company further in the direction of being able to provide full and innovative unified communications for enterprises and service providers.
Media5’s Mediatrix VoIP gateways integrate secure VoIP technologies to support a wide range of unified communications applications, giving Microsoft Corp. enterprise customers significant cost-savings from the replacement of costly ISDN facilities, local PSTN connectivity for remote offices, and the maximization of bandwidth utilization in a converged IP environment.
“The VoIP market needs solutions that can transition from traditional telecom lines to unified communications systems, and cooperation with partners like Microsoft helps Media5 to cover this requirement,” said Andres Torres, Mediatrix Product Line Manager at Media5. “Customers using Mediatrix Products can benefit from transparent integration within the Microsoft Office Communications Server environment for their existing PBX, faxes or Point-of-Sales devices.”
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 provides functionality ranging from corporate-grade instant messaging and presence to complete unified communications including full conferencing and VoIP capability with PSTN integration. The full unified communications solution allows organizations to dramatically improve productivity and reduce costs by replacing their traditional phone systems while benefiting from tight audio, video and text messaging integration across office phone, Microsoft Office applications, and mobile devices.
“Since the introduction of Microsoft Office Communications Server, interoperability grounded in open industry standards has helped bring our vision for unified communications to customers worldwide,” said Moz Hussain, director of Product Management for Communications Server at Microsoft. “Media 5’s Mediatrix line of VoIP Gateways provide our customers even more options to scale deployments with conferencing and voice functionality.”
