Implemented within the M5T Professional Services group, the IPv4 to IPv6 migration team will focus on identifying and realizing the special needs of products transitioning from an IPv4 to IPv6 environment. It provides a starting point and initial road map for a successful migration supported by experts.

The World Converts to IPv6 By 2010
IPv6 is the next generation Internet Protocol. Today's IPv4 TCP/IP runs out of addresses in August 2010, based upon the current uptake of IP addresses. The next generation, IPv6 with a 128-bit address space, enables an enormously greater number of new devices and services, replacing IPv4 within 10 years. Although some applications can run over either IPv4 or IPv6, newer applications, features, and functionalities will increasingly require IPv6. Taiwan, alone, plans to connect about 3 billion devices to the Internet by 2010. Globally, this implies an explosion in the number of devices and services.
