Branch Office Survivability

IP-based telephony systems have introduced great flexibility and broaden ways to communicate for businesses, but they can be adversely affected if IP network outages occur and systems cannot respond properly. When using a hosted IP-PBX or cloud-based UC suite, communication service interruptions may impact corporate productivity and, most times, translate into profit loss.

Mediatrix Survivability Gateways provide Service Continuity even when access to the primary server is unavailable due to a WAN failure or other outages. Mediatrix ensures the internal call control while redirecting external calls to a secondary, geo-redundant server or to the PSTN.

Survivability Gateways – What We Offer

In case of WAN failure or poor connectivity to the softswitch, the Mediatrix Survivability feature establishes a fallback mode of operation to connect local endpoints (such as IP-Phones, ATAs, analog phones, and faxes) together while redirecting external calls to backup SIP trunks and gateways. It also offers immediate recovery of call control to the softswitch once connectivity is restored.

Mediatrix is able to respond to challenging network and traffic conditions, ensuring remote site survivability and service continuity without manual configuration.

For all business sizes and verticals, Mediatrix offers survivability at a cost-effective price point.

Mediatrix survivability platforms ensure:

  • Fallback to secondary server or PSTN lifeline
  • On-premise communications alive during downtimes
  • Automatically build a contact database for IP-Phones (SIP Registration snooping)
  • SIP server monitoring
  • Registration throttling
  • Dynamic call routing

Survivability Gateways Portfolio

Survivability is available on Sentinel SBCs as well as on the VoIP gateways and Mediatrix G7, C7, and S7 Series phone adapters, featuring any mix of E1/T1 PRI, ISND BRI S0/T0, and analog FXS and FXO ports.

Mediatrix G7 Series – Media Gateway with Analog Adaptor capabilities to connect TDM PBX to Cloud Telephony services and IP-PBX systems to PSTN landlines.

Mediatrix C7 Series – Flexible combination of BRI, FXS, and FXO interfaces in a platform designed to interconnect remote offices with the headquarters through SIP based networks.

Mediatrix S7 Series – Analog VoIP Adaptor with the ability to smoothly connect all IP and legacy equipment to a hosted or on-premise IP-PBX.

Mediatrix S7 LP Series – Industry leading resiliency ATA to deploy cloud telephony services for remote areas and cabling with over-voltage exposure.

Fax and Modem over IP

Mediatrix_fax_over-ipFor many enterprises in different industries, fax and modem transmissions remain one of the most important communication methods. In areas such as finance, government, law, health, real estate, offshore, etc., fax and modem over IP are one of the essential ways to transfer a large number of documents and data, on a daily basis.

Keeping the reliability and quality of those communications without risk while migrating from TDM-based PBXs to IP telephony networks can be a challenge. During the transition from traditional telephony lines to VoIP in the operator network, or the existing legacy telephony systems to the IP-PBX and IP-phones inside enterprises, some interoperability issues may occur between different fax protocols and standards used by the VoIP systems and the enterprise.

Media5 Expertise – What We Offer

Media5 VoIP Adaptors (ATAs), Media Gateways and Session Border Controllers (SBCs) overcome IP fax and modem interoperability challenge by normalising the transmission across the networks, ensuring great flexibility, cost savings and high quality of service.

When it comes to faxes and modems, reliability and security are pre-requirements for many businesses that cannot suffer from failure or loosing data. Media5 solutions offer trustful connectivity and communications to the new IP telephony infrastructure in many scenarios and are adaptable to specific enterprise needs.
